A Quiet Return: Rebuilding My Studio, My Practice, and My Voice
It’s been a quiet season—but not an idle one.
Over the past year, I stepped away from sharing to focus on rebuilding. What began as a plan to update my website became something much deeper: a slow return to my creative center.
My studio space was the first to change. I sold my house and moved in an apartment with a huge garage. What once felt cluttered and chaotic gradually became a place I wanted to spend time again. I reworked the walls, moved things around, and let the stillness guide me. With each change, I felt a little more connected to my work again.
One of the most grounding things I did during this time was to revisit old canvases and begin new ones without pressure. Some of the paintings that emerged surprised me—others frustrated me—but they all helped me remember why I began this journey in the first place.
Alongside these paintings, I also explored new digital work, layering color and emotion in new ways. It felt freeing to move between mediums without judgment—just curiosity.
I’m not arriving back with a polished launch or a perfect plan. But I’m here. And I’m creating again.
If you’ve been following along—thank you for your patience.
If you’re new here—welcome. I’m glad you found your way to Kat Galo Studios.
Here’s to quiet seasons, slow growth, and showing up anyway.
